CBI arrests Nuapada Eklavya School principal in bribery case

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended the principal of an Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Nuapada district of Odisha in connection with a bribery case.

The accused apprehended by the CBI has been identified as C. Krishna Murthy Naidu, Principal, Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Nuapada, Odisha.

According to the CBI, a case was registered against the principal on October 7, 2026, following allegations that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from an Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) worker in return for recommending her name for extension of service at EMRS, Nuapada.

The CBI said that following negotiations, the accused agreed to accept Rs 12,000 from the complainant.

The agency subsequently laid a trap on October 7 and allegedly caught the principal red-handed while accepting the Rs 12,000 bribe from the complainant.

The accused principal was apprehended and further investigation is underway, the CBI said.
