Withdrawal of monsoon from Odisha begins

Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from Odisha, with the process beginning from parts of three districts in the state on Thursday.

According to the latest weather information, the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon has commenced from some areas of Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts.

Weather conditions are also becoming favourable for the further withdrawal of the monsoon from more parts of Odisha and other areas of eastern India. The monsoon is expected to retreat from additional regions of eastern India over the next three to four days.

The southwest monsoon had arrived in Odisha on June 12 this year, marking the beginning of the rainy season in the state.

The withdrawal of the monsoon marks the gradual transition towards the post-monsoon season, with rainfall activity expected to decrease in the coming days.
