The deceased has been identified as Sonu Nayak of Haldipadia. He was allegedly shot in the head from point-blank range, leading to his death.

According to reports, Sonu was travelling in a vehicle with four of his friends towards a petrol pump in Rasulgarh when the incident occurred. A group of miscreants, who were reportedly lying in wait in the Bomikhal area, intercepted their vehicle as it reached the spot.
