Angul: Two men died early Tuesday morning after a vehicle rammed their motorcycle in Purunakot area of Angul district.
The deceased have been identified as Dhirendra Sahoo (23) and Purnachandra Sahoo (41), both residents of Badasinghar village under Jarapada police limits.
According to sources, the accident took place at around 1 am near Hingsrida village while the duo was returning home after attending Danda Nacha festivities at Jagannathpur village. They were thrown off the two-wheeler under the impact of the collision and were found lying in critical condition on the road. Purunakot police reached the spot on receiving information and rushed them to district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
While the bodies have been sent for postmortem, police have launched an investigation to trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
