Jharsuguda: The district administration’s humanitarian initiative ‘Sneha Setu’ achieved another milestone by reuniting a missing youth from Bihar with his family after one and a half years.
Ranjit Yadav (34) from Rohtas district in Bihar was found in a helpless condition near Bamra in Sambalpur. Officials shifted him to Mission Ashalok-1 in Jharsuguda on April 6 for treatment and care. After 10 days of rehabilitation, Ranjit recalled his home address, enabling authorities to contact his family.
Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chabvan personally facilitated the reunion. On Thursday, Ranjit met his father Lakshman Singh and brother at the Collector’s office. The emotional reunion brought tears to his father’s eyes, who expressed deep gratitude to the district administration for their compassionate effort.
The ‘Sneha Setu’ aims to reconnect missing individuals with their families through coordinated administrative and humanitarian action. The program has helped several people return home safely, reinforcing Jharsuguda’s commitment to social welfare and empathy-driven governance.
Collector Chabvan said the initiative’s core mission is to reunite missing persons with their loved ones and restore their dignity. He praised the team’s dedication and urged continued support for similar humanitarian efforts.
