Kota/Bhubaneswar: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday felicitated Odisha’s Om Prakash Behera, who secured the All India Rank 1 in the JEE Mains 2025 April session.
In a video shared by the Speaker on X, he can be heard saying, “Record tod diya apne (you broke all records).”
Om Prakash was accompanied by his mother, Smita Rani Behera, a college lecturer in Odisha, who paused her career for three years to move with him to Kota for his preparations. He appeared for the exam as a candidate from Rajasthan.
“Om Prakash Behera, a student from Odisha studying in Kota, has achieved a historic milestone by securing All India Rank 1 in JEE Main 2025. Heartiest congratulations to him for this prestigious success. This achievement is not only a testament to his hard work and discipline but also a vibrant expression of Kota’s educational culture,” the Speaker further tweeted along with a video of his interaction with the topper and his mother.
“The sacrifice and dedication of Om Prakash’s parents behind this success are particularly inspiring. Heartfelt congratulations to Om Prakash, his parents, teachers, and Kota’s educational institutions for this glorious achievement. May this success serve as an inspiration for future generations. Twenty-four students achieved a perfect 100 percentile, with Rajasthan having the most toppers.
Seventeen-year-old Om Prakash, who hails from Bhubaneswar, secured a perfect 100 percentile score in both JEE Mains 2025 Session I and Session II. He is now preparing for JEE Advanced, and aspires to pursue BTech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay.
Nabaneet Priyadarshi, a Class XII student of DAV Public School, Unit-VIII, has topped the exam in Odisha with 99.989 percentile.
