Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced a two per cent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for State government employees, raising the rate from 58 to 60 per cent (pc).
A statement from the Chief Minister’s office said that the revised DA will be implemented retrospectively from January 1, 2026. The enhanced allowance will be paid along with the salary for the month of May, providing immediate financial relief to employees.
The government has also hiked the temporary increase (TI) for pensioners by two per cent. Pensioners will receive the revised TI amount with their May pension. The decision is expected to benefit around 8.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners across Odisha.
The last major DA hike for Odisha government employees was announced in October 2025. This hike increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by 3%, raising it from 55 pc to 58 pc, with the increase effective retrospectively from July 1, 2025.
