Berhampur: Ganjam Lakshya Niketan set up by Ganjam district administration to impart free coaching to those aspiring for UPSC and OPSC exams conducted mock interviews for candidates, who qualified in OPSC main (civil service).
At least five candidates, including a woman appeared in the mock interviews, where six bureaucrats, including four IAS and IPS officers, guided them on how to face interviews. The five candidates, all from Ganjam district have applied to the Lakshya Niketan, to appear in the mock interview. Each candidate was interviewed for 45 minutes, guided on ways to face the interview and build up on confidence, said Avinash Kumar, sub-collector, Berhampur.
Ganjam collector V. Keerthi Vasan, Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) commissioner A Sasya Reddy, SP (Berhampur) Saravana Vivek M, and two senior OAS officers interviewed the candidates. The OPSC will conduct the personality test and document verification for the Odisha Civil Service Examination from May 14 to 20 at the office of the commission, Cuttack.
The district administration launched free coaching facilities for selected meritorious aspirants to face the competitive exams. Free coaching is being provided to 170 aspirants, 50% of them being women at its centres in Berhampur, Bhanjanagar and Chhatrapur. The administration has selected a New Delhi based coaching centre for the purpose.
