Direct flight services between Bhubaneswar and Bangkok from October 2

Bhubaneswar: Bringing cheer to fliers from Odisha, the Biju Patnaik International Airport here is set to resume direct international flight services after a prolonged gap.

Official sources said direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Bangkok will operate twice a week from October 2, with IndiGo Airlines operating the service.

As per the initial schedule, flights will arrive in Bhubaneswar from Bangkok on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while flights from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok will operate on Mondays and Fridays.

However, the schedule will be revised after October 26. Under the revised schedule, flights from Bangkok will arrive in Bhubaneswar on Mondays and Thursdays, while departures from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The resumption of direct international connectivity is expected to benefit not only passengers from Odisha but also travellers from neighbouring regions, who can use Bhubaneswar as a convenient gateway for international travel.

With Bhubaneswar potentially emerging as an important connectivity hub under a ‘hub-and-spoke’ model, passengers travelling from different cities could have greater access to international flights through the state capital.

Airfares for the service may vary depending on travel dates and ticket availability, with online fares subject to change.

The resumption of direct international connectivity is expected to provide a boost to Odisha’s air connectivity and facilitate easier travel between the state and Bangkok.
