Day & Night Temp To Rise In Odisha By 2-3°C, Dense Fog Shrouds Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department on Friday predicted a gradual rise in both day and night temperature by 2-3 degrees in Odisha during the next two days.

The forecast came amid slight fall in night temperature in some pockets of the state during the last couple of days. G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal district, recorded the lowest of 8°C as against 9.7°C the previous day. Semiliguda came close second at 10.7°C, followed by Jharsuguda and Rourkela in the plains at 11.9°C and 12.1°C respectively. “The minimum temperature was below normal by about 5-2°C in interior districts of the sate.

Odisha and by about 2°C at one or two places in coastal Odisha,” according to the midday bulletin.

Dense Fog was also witnessed at some places in Khurda district, including state capital Bhubaneswar.

Head of Bhubaneswar regional centre, Manorama Mohanty, said that prevailing wind patterns are expected to facilitate a gradual increase in both minimum and maximum temperatures across the state this week.

The weather agency has also forecast shallow to moderate fog during early hours/morning hours at one or
two places in the district of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada till Saturday morning amid the prevailing dry weather.
