Baleshwar: In a tragic incident during the Durga Puja festivities, two brothers drowned while bathing in the Subarnarekha River at Manpur ghat under Baliapal police station limits in Odisha’s Baleshwar district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Ramya Ranjan Giri and Soumya Ranjan Giri, sons of Madhusudan Giri of Taladhananda village.
The two brothers had visited their maternal uncle’s house to celebrate Durga Puja when the incident occurred.
A pall of gloom descended on the locality after the death of the two brothers.
