Three Odias killed by relative in Andhra Pradesh

Bhubaneswar: At least three persons from Odisha were allegedly killed by their brother-in-law over a family dispute in Andhra Pradesh on Monday night. The tragic incident took place at Selaru village under Alluri Sitharama Raju district.

As per reports, the altercation erupted between the individuals during a family gathering. This escalating dispute tragically turned into fatal violence.

The accused reportedly lost his cool and attacked the three Odias with a sharp-edged weapon, killing them on the spot. While two of the victims are the residents of Chitrakonda, one other is from Nabarangpur. Andhra Pradesh Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.

As per the local residents, the family from Odisha had come to Andhra Pradesh to mourn the death of a relative. However, they had an altercation with their brother-in-law over a family dispute that led to the tragic incident.

Notably, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh share cultural exchanges among the people in the border areas. Both states have long seen intertwined familial and social ties, making this incident all the more impactful.
