Kendrapara: A three-day friendly cricket tournament was organized by the members Star Youth Club at Chasakhand village in Derabish block of the district. The semi-final and final matches were held on Tuesday.
While eight teams participated in the tournament, the matches received huge public support for three days. Barabati and Tilakana teams had entered into the final clash where Barabati won the trophy. Social workers of Derabish Panchayat Sanjay Kumar Sahu and Pramod Kumar Kar presented the trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 2500 to the winning team. The runner-up team received a trophy along with Rs. 2000 cash prize.
Social workers of the area Dipti Ranjan Kar, Girish Chandra Kar, Manas Kumar Kar, journalist Dipak Kumar Kar, commentator Sudhakar Sahu, Ramesh Chandra Sethi, Soumya Ranjan Sethi, Dipti Prakash Sethi, Jay Prakash Sethi, Smriti Ranjan Sethi, Biswa Ranjan Sethi, Chitta Ranjan Sethi, Chandan Kumar Sethi, Santosh Kumar Sethi, Janmanjay Sethi, Om Prakash Sethi, Sanatan Kandi, and others attended the closing ceremony.
