Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are scheduled to embark upon a two-day visit to Odisha this month to attend important events in the state. While the President is likely to reach Odisha on March 24, Shah is scheduled to embark on 2-day visit from March 22 for launching several projects in the state.
Official sources said the President is slated to arrive in Bhubaneswar on March 24 and then visit the Nilamadhaba Temple at Kantilo in Nayagarh district for a darshan. She is also scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack during her visit.
As per the schedule, the President will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) at 1.30 pm on March 24. She will then travel by a chopper and reach Paltan Padia at Kantilo, from where she will proceed to the revered Nilamadhaba temple. The President is also scheduled to visit Dhanchangada and Kaliapalli areas of the district the same day. She will attend the annual function of the Bharatiya Vishwavasu Shabar Samaj Foundation in Kaliapalli as the chief guest. After this function, she will return to Bhubaneswar and spend the night at the Raj Bhavan.
On the second day of her visit on March 25, Murmu will attend the convocation ceremony event at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack as the chief guest. Later, the President will lay the foundation stone for a development project at Ravenshaw Girls’ High School. After the function, he will have lunch at the Circuit House in Cuttack and rest for some time. Thereafter, the President will pay homage by garlanding the statue of Adikabi Sarala Das at Tulsipur in the city. From there, she will reach the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium to attend the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 programme organised by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad on the occasion of the birth anniversary of poet Sarala Das. After the event, Murmu is scheduled to proceed to Bhubaneswar and return to Delhi at 5.30 pm.
According to official sources, Shah is slated to arrive in Bhubaneswar on March 22, while details of his tour programme are being finalised. During his visit, the Home Minister is slated to lay the foundation stone for several important government projects He is also scheduled to launch some new initiatives in the state.
