Cuttack: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released an official recruitment notification for 314 Assistant Professor posts under the Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES). The recruitment drive is aimed at filling academic vacancies in government-run medical colleges across the state. Eligible candidates may submit their applications online from May 26 to June 26, 2025, through the official portal at opsc.gov.in.
Candidates applying for these posts must possess postgraduate degrees such as MD, MS, DNB, or M.Sc. in relevant specialities from recognised institutions. Teaching experience, wherever required, must align with the standards set by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Applicants must be aged between 21 and 45 years as of May 1, 2025. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available for candidates belonging to reserved categories, in accordance with state government regulations.
The 314 posts are spread across various disciplines, including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, and others. Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility conditions specific to the discipline they are applying for.
The application fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 500. However, SC, ST, and PwD applicants from Odisha are exempted from paying the fee.
The selection process may consist of a written examination and/or an interview, depending on the number of applications received. Final selection will be based on the candidate’s educational qualifications, experience, and performance during the interview process.
Successful candidates will be appointed under Level-12 of the pay matrix, with a starting basic salary of Rs 79,800 per month, along with applicable allowances as per government norms.
