OMFED hikes milk prices across all variants

Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has effected an increase in the prices of all variants of its milk.

The premium and toned milk will now cost Rs 2 more per litre, while the price of gold milk has been increased by Rs 4 per litre. According to the revised rates, a packet of 1 litre toned milk will now cost Rs 50, premium milk Rs 54 and gold milk Rs 56. These variants with increased price tag arrived in the market on Saturday.

The milk price was last increased by OMFED on April 1, 2023. On June 1, the Odisha government increased the milk procurement price by Rs 3 per litre to benefit around 2.5 lakh dairy farmers across the state.

It also raised the retail price of milk from Rs 52 to Rs 54 per litre but announced to cover half the additional cost through subsidies.
