Awareness campaign launched to promote care for senior citizens

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Minister for Law, Works, and Excise, Prithviraj Harichandan, officially released a social awareness video titled ‘20ka Panikiare Bruddhashram’ today at his official residence.

The video uses the traditional framework of multiplication tables (Panikia) as a creative medium to spread a deeply resonant message on duty, affection, and respect toward senior citizens.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Harichandan commended the creative approach of using standard educational rote-learning to instill moral values and civic responsibility toward elders in young minds.

The video features performance and creative input from two sisters—Sruti Sulagna, a Class 10 student, and Priti Sulagna, a Class 6 student, both studying at PM Shri Radhamohan Jiu Nodal School. The lyrics for the project were penned by noted lyricist Dr. Sanatan Panda.

Minister Harichandan extended his warm congratulations to the young sisters, the lyricist, participating artists, and their parents for conceptualizing and executing the project. He praised the captivating performance of the young artists, noting that their dedication toward art, culture, and social consciousness will play a pivotal role in shaping responsible future citizens.
