Bhubaneswar: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari was shifted to AIIMS New Delhi on Thursday morning for specialised cardiac care, following his recent hospitalisation in Bhubaneswar.
The senior BJP leader had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, since Tuesday evening after he complained of chest pain and related discomfort. He was admitted to Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CTV ICU) for monitoring and evaluation. Doctors performed an angiography, which diagnosed him with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) accompanied by Triple Vessel Disease (TVD), indicating significant blockages in multiple coronary arteries.
Following the diagnosis and initial treatment, medical experts recommended his referral to AIIMS New Delhi for more advanced intervention and treatment options. Pujari departed from Bhubaneswar around 9 am, accompanied by medical support.
Hospital sources said that the minister’s health condition is currently stable, and he is under close medical supervision. Further details on his treatment plan in Delhi are awaited.
