Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
As per official sources, the Chief Minister visited Naveen Niwas here and interacted with the BJD president, who is recuperating after being hospitalised for three days due to dehydration. During the meeting that lasted around ten minutes, Majhi and inquired about the former CM’s health condition. Opposition leader Naveen said he was feeling good.
In a post on X, CM Majhi said he enquired about the health condition of the LoP during the meeting and prayed for his wellbeing and long life. The Chief Minister also sought the opposition leader’s cooperation for smooth conduct of proceedings during the upcoming monsoon session of the State Assembly, which will begin from September 18.
It is worth mentioning that the former CM was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening due to dehydration. Later he returned to Naveen Niwas after being discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, his elder brother Prem Patnaik visited Bhubaneswar on Friday to enquire about health condition of Naveen. Prem had also visited Naveen in Mumbai where the BJC chief underwent a spine surgery for cervical arthritis in June. The BJD supremo had then returned to Odisha 21 days later.
Naveen, who is a bachelor, stays alone in Bhubaneswar while his elder brother and his family are residents of Delhi. Their sister Gita Mehta passed away in 2023.
