Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, marking the first anniversary of the BJP-led government in Odisha, delivered a spirited address in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thanking him for his unwavering support to the state and the people of India.
Addressing the public, CM Majhi recalled, “Exactly a year ago, we formed our government in Odisha in the presence of PM Modi. Today, the Prime Minister is once again here with us—this reflects his affection and dedication towards Odisha.”
The Chief Minister praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating that under his guidance, India has become the fourth-largest economy in the world and is fast moving toward the $5 trillion milestone. “You have rightly proved the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’,” he said.
Referring to the recent success of Operation Sindoor, CM Majhi hailed it not only as a decisive strike against terrorism but also as a symbol of hope and empowerment for women and the youth. “People used to say, ‘Modi hai toh mumkin hai.’ Today, they are saying, ‘Modi hai toh desh safe hai’,” he noted.
In a special mention, CM Majhi also extended birthday greetings to President Droupadi Murmu, calling it a matter of pride that the state was celebrating its development journey on her birthday.
Year of Achievements
Highlighting the achievements of his government over the past year, CM Majhi said he has actively connected with the people by visiting every corner of Odisha. “I have shared their joys and sorrows, and we have worked to bring meaningful change to their lives,” he said.
Among the key welfare initiatives listed were input assistance of Rs 800 per quintal for farmers, expansion of PM-KISAN and CM-KISAN schemes, launch of Subhadra Yojana, empowering 17 lakh ‘Lakhipati Didis’ and healthcare support through Ayushman Bharat and Gopabandhu Yojana.
“Under your (PM Modi) leadership, the entire nation is reaching new heights of development. Over the past 11 years, India has witnessed consistent progress. Today, India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy, and we are rapidly moving towards becoming a $5 trillion economy. India’s extreme poverty rate has decreased to 5.3% from 27.1%. This is proof of how the country is witnessing positive changes under your leadership,” Majhi said.
“In January, PM Modi urged the investors to participate in the Utkarsh Odisha 2025 conclave. We received proposals worth Rs 17 lakh crores in just two days, which is a record. This happened because the investors trusted you. We are working to make Odisha the industrial hub of eastern India,” he added.
This was followed by an audio video presentation of the Mohan Majhi government’s achievement in the last one year. The Chief Minister also felicitated the PM with a painting during the celebration event.
Among others, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Deputy CMs Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo, Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda, BJP Odisha President Manmohan Samal, and other ministers were present on the dais.
