Mirdha Toppo appointed Special Secretary to CM Mohan Majhi

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday appointed OAS officer (Super Selection Grade) Mirdha Toppo as special secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.

Toppo is currently serving as the Project Director, DUDA (District Urban Development Agency) in Keonjhar. This came a day after senior IAS officer Saswat Mishra was appointed as the Principal Secretary to the CM, while continuing to serve as the Principal Secretary, Finance Department, and also the Chairman of Idco.

Toppo’s career trajectory is a testament to his commitment and administrative acumen. He began his journey in grassroots governance, serving as Block Development Officer (BDO) in Patna, Karanjia, and Jhumpura blocks. His effective leadership and people-centric governance at the block level earned him widespread appreciation and set the foundation for future responsibilities.

Following his success as a BDO, Toppo was subsequently promoted and posted as Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Bargarh district, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing key developmental initiatives and coordinating disaster response during floods and other emergencies.

Continuing his upward journey, he later served as the Project Director (PD) of the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) in Keonjhar, focusing on urban planning, infrastructure enhancement, and the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the urban areas of the mineral-rich district.
