Baripada: A young man was trampled to death by a wild tusker outside his house at a village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
As per sources, the incident took place at Bhadusole village under Rasgovindpur Range of Baripada Forest Division in the district on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Laxman Marandi.
The elephant attacked Marandi when he had stepped out of his house at night for some work in the backyard. His family noticed that he had not returned and launched a search operation. His body was found in the backyard on Wednesday morning.
After receiving information, Forest Department personnel visited the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.
