Khelo India Tribal Games: Odisha bag 57 medals, secure 2nd position

Bhubaneswar: Odisha finished with 57 medals, the only team to cross the half-century mark in the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 in Chhattisgarh.

However, Odisha had to be satisfied with second position as Karnataka emerged overall champions by virtue of winning more gold medals. Team Odisha won 21 gold, 15 silver and 21 bronze for an aggregate of 57. Karnataka managed 38 medals in all, but their tally was made up of 23 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze.

Jharkhand were placed third in the medals tally with a haul of 35 (16 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze). On the final of competition, Odisha archers won a handful of medals, with Arjun Khara leading the way. Arjun struck gold in Men’s Individual Recurve, silver in Men’s Team Recurve (along with Somnath Hembram and Ramai Murmu) and another silver in Recurve Mixed Team event (with Mamita Oram).
