Malkangiri: The flood situation in Mathili block of Odisha’s Malkangiri district has turned serious following incessant rainfall, with the rising water level in the Saberi River disrupting communication in several areas.
Residents of Kamarpalli, Salimi, Temrupalli and Partanpalli panchayats are facing difficulties in travelling to the Mathili block headquarters as floodwater has inundated several stretches.
The rising water in the Saberi River has also entered several localities, with water entering some houses.
Authorities have evacuated people from vulnerable low-lying areas to safer locations as a precautionary measure. The administration is closely monitoring the flood situation and taking necessary steps.
