Rayagada: A team of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has reached the Rayagada residence of former Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskar Rao as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving the local truck owners’ association.
The EOW team was questioning some persons at Bhaskar Rao’s residence. Bhaskar Rao was not present in the town at the time of the incident.
EOW officials, however, have declined to share further details about the ongoing investigation.
The EOW team has reportedly been camping in Rayagada for the past two days and conducting inquiries into allegations of financial misappropriation amounting to Rs 80 crore.
A 25-member Crime Branch team has visited the area to investigate the allegations.
