Bhubaneswar: In a landmark decision that has brought immense joy to the teaching community, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced the regularisation of all schematic junior teachers (Junior Teacher, Schematic) working on a contract basis.
The move directly benefits more than 13,000 teachers appointed during the 2023-24 academic year.
The Chief Minister’s decision grants these teachers regular employee status from the date of their joining in service. However, they will receive notional benefits up to December 31, 2025. Full salary and all other regular employee benefits will be applicable from January 1, 2026, onwards.
This fulfils an earlier announcement made by the Chief Minister. Teachers across the state have welcomed the decision, describing it as a long-awaited and morale-boosting step that will improve their financial security and service conditions.
