Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced a 2 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for Odisha government employees.
With this hike, the DA, which was increased by 3% in October last year ahead of Diwali, has now gone up to 55%. The revised allowance will be implemented retrospectively from January 1, 2025. The employees will receive the increased DA as cash benefit along with April salary, according to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office.
Additionally, the government has increased 2 per cent dearness relief for pensioners, who will receive this adjustment in their April pension.
This decision will benefit approximately 8.5 lakh state government employees and pensioners, the release added.
