CDPO & Anganwadi Worker Caught Taking Bribe In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday apprehended CDPO of Koraput’s Dashmantpur block, Sakuntala Das, along with Minati Khosla of Adhamunda Anganwadi centre, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

The CDPO had demanded the illegal gratification from a newly-appointed Anganwadi helper to open her personal file and release her salary. The Anganwadi helper, who had joined work one and half months back at an Anganwadi centre under Dashmantpur block, reported the matter to Vigilance authorities, who then laid a trap and nabbed the accused persons.

The entire bribe money was recovered from them and seized.

Simultaneous searches are currently ongoing at three locations linked to the CDPO and one location of the Anganwadi worker to ascertain whether they have accumulated assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

A case has been registered under Section 7 of PC Amendment Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
