Bhubaneswar: Babita Rath of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir in Odisha’s Bargarh has topped the High School Certificate examination, the results of which were announced on Friday.
Babita, who secured 97.33% marks in the exam, has credited her success to her teachers, parents and elder sister. “I used to study for 8-10 hours every day. I had set a daily target for myself and never went to bed without completing it,” she told the media.
A total of 94.93 per cent students emerged successful this year. While 1,812 students achieved A1 grade securing more than 90 per cent marks, 12,200 got A2 grade ( 80 to 89 per cent), 38,831 Grade B1 (70 to 79 per cent), 84,971 Grade B2 (60 to 69 per cent), 1,33,882 Grade C (50 to 59 per cent), 1,46,154 Grade D (40 to 49 per cent) and 67,013 obtained Grade E (30 to 39 per cent). Around 17,384 students flunked the exam.
While no school in Odisha recorded zero results, 3,273 achieved a 100% pass rate. Among the districts, Gajapati posted the highest 99.35 per cent pass rate while lowest 92.83 per cent was reported from Koraput.
