Amid Red Fort Car Blast Probe, Bomb Scare At Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3

New Delhi: The national Capital is on the edge ever since a Hyundai i20 exploded near Red Fort on Monday evening, killing 12 people and injuring dozens.

Even as Delhi has been on high alert amidst an intensive investigation, there was a bomb scare at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Wednesday.

The Fire Brigade department received a call at 4 pm about a bomb being found at Terminal 3 of Delhi airport, ANI reported.

Police and security agencies immediately got down to business and carried out a thorough search. No bomb was found, prompting police to believe it was a hoax.

The email was received on IndiGo’s grievance portal, and mentioned several other airports, including Delhi, Chennai and Goa.

An Air India Express spokesperson said a government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee was immediately alerted as protocol after the flight to Varanasi received a bomb threat.

IGI airport apart, precautionary checks have been conducted at the other locations mentioned in the threat email, Delhi Police said.
