Power supply restored to over 99 pc of cyclone-affected consumers: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Restoration of electricity infrastructure in eight districts of southern Odisha, affected by Cyclone ‘Arnab’ and the subsequent floods, is progressing on a war footing, with power supply restored to 99.05 per cent of the affected consumers, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Monday.

According to the Chief Minister, electricity supply has been fully restored in four districts — Boudh, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur. All 33 KV and 11 KV feeders, along with 33/11 KV substations in these districts, have also been made fully operational.

The restoration work is continuing in the remaining affected areas to ensure that electricity supply reaches all consumers at the earliest.

The administration and electricity department personnel are working round the clock to repair damaged infrastructure and restore power connections to the remaining consumers.

The Chief Minister said efforts were being made to ensure the early restoration of normal electricity services across all eight affected districts.
