OKCL equips social media influencers with AI skills

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) on Sunday organised a one-day Influencer Connect programme aimed at strengthening participants’ understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), building practical digital capabilities, and creating a collaborative network of influencers and digital creators.

The event brought together 50 influencers for a full-day programme combining AI capacity building, hands-on activities, case studies, networking, influencer engagement strategies, and creator-focused initiatives. The programme was designed to provide participants with practical exposure to emerging AI tools and encourage them to explore their applications in content creation, communication and digital innovation.

Inaugurating the programme, Managing Director of OKCL Dr. Manoranjan Puthal shared organisation’s broader vision and its focus on leveraging technology and digital platforms for capacity building. Technology is increasingly emerging as a key enabler of economic and social growth in Odisha by improving access to information, strengthening skills, creating new employment opportunities, and supporting innovation. Digital platforms can help connect people, businesses, educational institutions and government services, making knowledge and opportunities more accessible across urban and rural areas, he said.

The AI Capacity Building session, which focused on developing participants’ practical understanding of Artificial Intelligence, equipped the influencers with ethical frameworks, and technical skills required to integrate artificial intelligence into daily operations. This was followed by a hands-on training on website development, enabling participants to connect concepts with practical applications.

As part of the programme, OKCL also launched a 15-Day OKCL Creator Challenge, providing participants with an opportunity to put their creative and digital skills into practice. The initiative is intended to encourage consistent content creation with ethical use of AI and engagement with digital platforms.

“Participating in the OKCL Influencer Connect programme was a valuable learning experience. The sessions on Artificial Intelligence and hands-on digital tools gave us practical insights that we can apply to our content creation and everyday digital work. The programme also provided an opportunity to connect with fellow creators, exchange ideas and understand how AI can be used responsibly and creatively. The 15-Day OKCL Creator Challenge will further encourage us to put these learning into practice and create meaningful digital content,” said a content creator Anurag Mohanty.

Through the Influencer Connect initiative, OKCL seeks to strengthen its engagement with the influencer and creator community while promoting awareness and practical adoption of AI and digital technologies. The event also provided a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration among participants working across the digital ecosystem.
