Balangir: The district police arrested a 19-year-old youth in connection with a POCSO case registered at Turekela police station.
The accused, Rinku Parabhu of Larki village, allegedly abducted a minor girl from Ramuda village on June 16 and subjected her to sexual assault. Following the incident, police registered Case No. 118/2026 under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act, said Turekela IIC Rakesh Behera.
After investigation, police arrested the accused on July 19 and produced him before the Balangir ADJ-cum-Special POCSO Court on Monday. Police confirmed that further investigation is underway.
