Paradip: JSW Utkal Steel Limited here observed the World Environment Day with great enthusiasm at its greenfield integrated steel plant project site. The event was organised in line with this year’s global theme, “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Future,” and witnessed active participation from senior management, employees, business associates, and local stakeholders.
As part of the celebration, a large-scale plantation drive was undertaken under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative and the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” Participants planted saplings across the project area, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The programmed was graced by Bibechita Sarangi, In-Charge Regional Officer, Paradeep, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the collective responsibility of every citizen towards protecting the environment and highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable lifestyle practices to ensure a cleaner, healthier, and greener future. She appreciated the proactive environmental measures undertaken by JSW Utkal Steel during the project development phase and expressed satisfaction with the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
To mark the occasion, various employee engagement activities, including Essay Writing, Poster Making, and Group Discussion Competitions, were organized to promote environmental awareness. The Chief Guest distributed prizes to the winners and commended their efforts in spreading the message of environmental sustainability.
Further strengthening the green initiative, indoor plants were distributed among employees to encourage the creation of greener and healthier workplaces.
The celebration reflected JSW Utkal Steel’s unwavering commitment to environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable industrial development, reinforcing its vision of building a greener future for generations to come.
