Temp to rise by 2-4°C in Odisha during next 4 days

Bhubaneswar: The day temperature in Odisha is likely to rise gradually by 2-4°C during the next 4 days amid thunderstorm activity, the India Meteorological Department informed on Sunday.

The weather agency has warned of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Malkangiri till March 23 morning.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.

While there is no warning for the next three days, light to moderate rain may continue in some parts of the state.

Yellow warning of thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is also issued on March 23 for Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts. The warning continues for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Sundargarh during the subsequent 24 hours.

On March 25, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph at isolated places in the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Mayurbhanj districts. There will be no large change in the weather conditions during the subsequent 3 days, it added.
