Bhadrak: Two persons were killed and another sustained critical injury in a road accident in at Bhandaripadi square in Dhamnagar area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Saturday.
According to sources, the three youths aged 17-19 years were travelling on a motorcycle when the two-wheeler slipped due to mud scattered on the road. The motorbike then hit a tractor coming from the opposite direction. The teenagers were thrown off their bike and sustained critical injuries.
Locals took them to Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dhamnagar. Later, they were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital at Bhadrak, where two of them died. Another youth has been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, where he is under critical care.
The driver of the tractor is absconding. Police reached the spot and begun an investigation. Officials of Dhamnagar police station have seized both vehicles and efforts are on to trace the driver.
