Bhubaneswar: Two Odisha-cadre IAS officers, Vir Vikram Yadav and Vineel Krishna, who are on central deputation, have been assigned new responsibilities.
They will be in charge of Dhenkanal and Balangir respectively under the Aspirational District Programme.
The IAS officers are among the Central Prabhari Officers (CPOs) appointed by the Centre to accelerate progress in socio-economically challenged 22 districts. These officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring development indicators and facilitating effective implementation of government schemes in these districts.
The officers will handle their CPO duties in addition to their existing official responsibilities, according to the notification issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday.
Yadav is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, while Vineel Krishna is Joint Secretary in the Department of Sports.
