Woman IPS officer wins hearts by massaging Kanwariyas’ feet in Jayapur

Koraput: IPS officer Archita Mittal, who works as Jayapur SDPO, has won appreciation for offering foot service to Bol Bom devotees travelling towards the famous Gupteswar shrine.

While on duty, Mittal was seen approaching Kanwariyas who were walking long distances as part of their pilgrimage. Instead of merely ensuring their safety and managing the arrangements, she went a step further and personally massaged the feet of the tired devotees.

The visuals of the police officer providing the service while wearing her official uniform have drawn attention and appreciation. For devotees undertaking the arduous journey on foot, fatigue and physical exhaustion can become major challenges. Amid this, the gesture by the police officer has provided a touching example of empathy while performing official duty.

Police personnel routinely remain deployed along pilgrimage routes to ensure the safety and security of devotees. However, the sight of an officer personally attending to the tired feet of Kanwariyas has struck an emotional chord with many.

For many, the image of an IPS officer serving devotees while remaining in uniform reflects the human side of policing.

Mittal’s act of compassion has received praise from the public, with many saying such gestures can inspire other officers to combine their official responsibilities with empathy and service to people.
