Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for the State-level Independence Day Parade-2026 in Bhubaneswar, announcing restrictions and diversions on Mahatma Gandhi Marg and adjoining roads during parade rehearsals and the main celebration.
According to the notification, the restrictions will remain in force on August 11 and 12 from 2.30 pm to 6 pm, on August 13 from 8.30 am to 11.30 am, and on August 15 from 6 am onwards until completion of the parade.
The restrictions are aimed at ensuring smooth movement and security during the rehearsals and the State-Level Independence Day Parade.
Traffic restrictions
- Heavy vehicles will not be allowed towards Master Canteen Square from either the Ram Mandir side or Rajmahal side.
- Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles coming from the Rajmahal side will be allowed to move towards Ram Mandir through Master Canteen Square. However, vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards PMG Square from Master Canteen Square until the parade or event is over.
- Vehicles heading towards Rabindra Mandap from the Housing Board side will not be allowed to proceed further and will be diverted at Keshari Talkies crossing.
- Vehicles moving towards PMG Square from AG Square will be diverted at Jaydev Bhawan Square towards the IDCOL Auditorium side.
- Vehicles coming from the 120 Battalion Square side will be diverted towards Unit-IV at the MLA Colony crossing.
- All lanes touching Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be sealed for vehicular traffic. Only pedestrians will be allowed to proceed towards Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
