Odisha Govt clears 18 new projects worth Rs 3,877 crore

Bhubaneswar: In a significant push to accelerate industrial growth, the Odisha government on Tuesday cleared 18 new projects worth Rs 3,877.14 crore that are expected to generate 7,565 employment opportunities across 11 districts.

The approvals came at the 146th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The cleared projects span diverse sectors, including metals and downstream manufacturing, explosives, electronics, pharmaceuticals, sustainable recycling, infrastructure, shipbuilding, and tourism. These will be implemented in districts such as Balasore, Deogarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.

While Runaya Eckart Aluminium Powders Private Limited will set up an aluminium downstream manufacturing facility, Scan Steels Limited, Jay Jagannath Steel & Power Limited, and SS Alufoils International Limited will boost steel, iron, and ferro-alloy production, further cementing Odisha’s position as a major metal manufacturing hub, an official release said.

Solar Industries India Limited received approval for an explosives manufacturing unit in Jharsuguda. In electronics, Envair Electrodyne Limited will establish an Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) facility to support the state’s growing tech manufacturing ecosystem.

The healthcare sector will benefit from two new units: Harman Finochem Limited’s pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and Ambitech Healthcare Private Limited’s medical devices facility.

Emphasising sustainability, South Block Marketing Private Limited will develop an integrated recycling facility for plastic and metal products.

Infrastructure and logistics will get a boost from projects by Tamil Nadu Ispat Private Limited and Alps Mining & Infra Projects Private Limited.

In a notable diversification, Baleshwar Shipyard and Infra Private Limited will undertake shipbuilding, ship repair, and construction of mechanised floating vessels in Balasore, positioning Odisha as an emerging player in maritime manufacturing.

The tourism and hospitality sector received a major fillip with six new projects by Jas Constructions Private Limited, Rath Hospitality Private Limited, Keonjhar Regal Paradise Private Limited, Karyon Ventures Private Limited, Surya Eco Resorts Private Limited, and Chaturbhuja Hotel & Resorts Private Limited. “These investments are expected to enhance tourism infrastructure, enhance visitor experience, and create substantial service-sector employment opportunities,” the release said.

It further noted that the state’s proactive approach — moving from policy formulation to project execution — has significantly strengthened investor trust. ” Guided by the vision of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Odisha is steadily advancing towards becoming a leading industrial growth engine of Eastern India, contributing to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 while realising the goal of Samruddha Odisha 2036,” it added.
