Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has extended the timeline for the ongoing Phase-I undergraduate (UG) admission process for the 2026-27 academic session under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) in view of the prevailing flood situation across parts of the state.
According to an official notification, the decision was taken to address the difficulties being faced by students and higher education institutions in flood-affected areas. The revised schedule will apply to admissions in all (+3) Degree institutions participating under SAMS, including State Public Universities, Government, Aided, Unaided and Law Colleges.
Under the revised schedule for the third and final selection round, candidates allotted seats must report to their respective institutions for admission by 5:00 pm on August 5, 2026. The department said applicants should ideally report in person, although representatives carrying valid identity proof will also be permitted.
The merit list of eligible waitlisted applicants will be published on the notice boards and websites of the institutions at 2:00 pm on August 12, while selected candidates will also be informed through phone calls or SMS.
