Naveen urges people not to vote for unscrupulous candidates

Berhampur: Raising BJD’s campaign for the upcoming elections to a new height in Odisha, party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday urged the people not to vote for thieves and unscrupulous candidates.

Addressing an election meeting at Gopalpur in Ganjam district, Naveen described the candidates fielded by opposition political parties as corrupt and crooks and urged the voters not to extend support to them in the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

“Please bless me and vote in favour of conch symbol of BJD. Do not vote for thieves,” the CM said while appealing to the people to vote for the Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates of the ruling party.

The BJD supremo sought the opinion of the people about the different welfare and development schemes being implemented by the state government and urged them to extend overwhelming support to the regional party in the twin elections.

Accompanied by V K Pandian, the BJD chief also addressed an election rally in Aska in the same district before proceeding to Phulbani in Kandhamal district to garner support for party candidates for the ensuing polls.
