OSEPA launches summer learning programme through WhatsApp

Bhubaneswar: Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has announced a Summer Learning Programme for students from Shishu Vatika to Class VIII during the upcoming vacation.

The programme will ensure continuous learning through assignments and audio-visual content shared via WhatsApp groups.

Officials confirmed that class and subject-wise assignment sheets have been prepared, along with linked multimedia content. Parents and teachers will receive these materials through dedicated WhatsApp groups, enabling students to stay engaged during the break.

OSEPA directed all District Education Officers to form grade-wise WhatsApp groups by April 25. Existing groups must be renamed using a new format that includes the class name and UDISE code of the school. For example, a Class I group with UDISE code 6756454543 will be named “class1.6756454543.”

The authority emphasised that this initiative aims to strengthen digital learning and parental involvement. Teachers will coordinate with parents to ensure assignments are completed, while expenditure for photocopying materials will be met from the composite grant of Samagra Shiksha 2026-27.

Education officials said the programme reflects Odisha’s commitment to innovative learning methods and bridging gaps during long vacations. The move is expected to benefit thousands of students across the state.
