IIRF-2026 Rankings: Two medical colleges from Odisha among top 20 in India

Bhubaneswar: Two medical colleges from Odisha have secured places among the top 20 medical colleges in the country in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) 2026 rankings.

Srirama Chandra Bhanja Medical College in Cuttack has secured 15th rank in the IIRF 2026 rankings, with an overall score of 933.09 out of 1,000. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, has secured 16th place in the IIRF-2026 rankings. The premier health institute’s overall score stands at 932.52.

The AIIMS, New Delhi, secured the top rank in the IIRF-2026 rankings, with an overall score of 953.32. Madras Medical College (MMC), Chennai, secured the second place while Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, got the 3rd rank.

Similarly, VIMSAR in Burla ranked 64th and MKCG Medical College in Bramhapur secured the 74th position.

SCB Medical College in Cuttack is one of the oldest and largest medical colleges in the country. Established in the pre-independence era, the heath institute still continues to serve people from across the state and outside.

The institute produces more than 2,000 trained medical and paramedical professionals every year. AIIMS-Bhubaneswar was established under the Phase 1 of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthy Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) in 2012 to provide high quality treatment to the patients.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling congratulated the doctors, faculty members, students and staff of the medical colleges for their performance in the rankings.
