Bhubaneswar: Four resolutions covering educational reforms, women’s safety, urban maoism, and the global scenario were passed during the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which concluded here on Sunday.
The meeting witnessed extensive deliberations on the national affairs, the education system, the role of youth, national security, socio-economic issues, and contemporary challenges. It also reviewed the decisions taken in the Akhil Bharatiya Vichar Baithak and Sangathan Vichar Baithak, assessed ongoing campaigns, programmes, and organisational activities, and formulated a comprehensive roadmap for the coming year.
To mark the historic 60th anniversary of the National Integration Tour under the Student Experience in Inter-state Living (SEIL), an innovative programme ‘SEIL@60’ will be organized across India. ABVP will launch year-long nationwide campaigns focusing on various milestones, including ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’, ‘150 Years of Vande Mataram’, 50 years of the anti-Emergency movement, the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, and the 650th birth anniversary celebration of Sant Ravidas Ji.
The NEC also discussed the recent decision of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) regarding the implementation of the ‘Three-Language’ policy and appreciated the initiative. ABVP emphasized the need for its effective implementation and reiterated its demand for conducting examinations in regional languages. The organisation described the policy as an important step towards strengthening Indian languages, fostering national integration, and achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy. The policy is expected to equip students with multilingual proficiency while preserving and promoting India’s rich linguistic diversity.
Further, ABVP called upon Indian industry to significantly increase investment in Research and Development (R&D) to accelerate the realization of the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said, “The resolutions adopted during the meeting are not merely responses to contemporary challenges, they also reflect ABVP’s broader national vision and long-term commitment towards building a developed, secure, prosperous, and self-reliant India.”
Through these resolutions, we have collectively reaffirmed our commitment to making education more effective, student-centric, and employment-oriented; addressing emerging challenges such as Urban Maoism that threaten national security; curbing organised crimes, exploitation, and conversion conspiracies targeting women; and fostering vigilant and responsible citizenship in an era of global uncertainty where national interest must remain paramount, he added.
More than 400 representatives and student activists from all regions of the country, including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Delhi, the North-East, Tamil Nadu, and other states, participated in the meeting.
