Senior journalist Ranjit Guru passes away
Bhubaneswar: Senior journalist Ranjit Guru passed away following illness here on Saturday midnight. He was 61.
He breathed his last at around 12.30 am while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Guru was admitted to KIMS hospital on August 1 after he suffered an infection. He was put on ventilator after his condition deteriorated. He had undergone kidney transplant surgery in 2005.
Guru was working with ‘Sambad’ as the Editor of its Editorial Page. During his 30-year long career in journalism, he was associated with the leading newspapers like ‘Ananda Bazar Patrika’ and ‘The Asian Age’.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the passing away of the veteran journalist.
The CM took to Twitter and wrote, “Saddened to learn about the passing away of noted journalist and columnist Ranjit Guru. He had carved a special identity for himself by highlighting many significant issues through his column in newspaper ‘Aprasangha’.”
