Security personnel recover explosives from dump in Malkangiri
Bhubaneswar: Security personnel deployed in anti-Naxal operation have recovered huge quantity of explosives and cash from a dump during an anti-Naxal operation in the forest area near Sindhiput village in Malkangiri district bordering Alluri Sitaram Raju district of Andhra Pradesh.
Sources here said the security personnel recovered 31 gelatin sticks, 11 electric detonators, 2 tiffin bombs, one pressure cooker bomb, 17-metre codex wire, one electric wire bundle, one testing pin and Rs 70,000 from the explosive dump on Wednesday.
Based on information received on September 20, teams of SOG and DVF Koraput, had conducted an anti-Naxal operation in the forest area of Hanumal, Sindhiput, Ondeipadar, Andrahal and Mudulipada in Koraput and Malkangiri districts on Tuesday.
The operation party recovered the explosive dump in the forest area near Sindhiput village on September 21. Recently, a large number of militia and Maoist supporters of Bhajaguda, Biseiguda, Khalguda, Patraput, Ondeipadar and Sindhiput villages in Malkangiri district and Kusumput, Matamput and Jodigumma villages of Andhra Pradesh surrendered before Odisha Police and BSF in the presence of DIG South Western Range.
