Odisha Health Minister’s daughter booked for violating COVID-19 norms
Jharsuguda: Police registered a case against Deepali Das, daughter of Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, for allegedly violating COVID-19 guidelines in Jharsuguda.
Based on a complaint filed by Jharsuguda Municipality Official, Jharsuguda Town Police registered the case against Deepali, Jharsuguda SP Rahul P R said.
On June 22, during a felicitation function of corona warriors at DRDA conference hall, Deepali and some other persons who were present did not maintain social distancing norms and adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, it was stated.
Reacting to the allegations, Deepali said she never violated Covid guidelines. “A meeting was organised in the presence of members from various voluntary organisations to felicitate the contribution and sacrifice made by our corona warriors, but some frustrated people raised questions on flouting Covid guidelines during the event. I want to make it clear that I always respect rules and will continue my fight against coronavirus and work for the betterment of the people of Jharsuguda,” she said.
