Minor boy fined for violating traffic norms in Cuttack
Cuttack: A minor boy was caught driving a two-wheeler near Madhupatna Chowk in Cuttack on Sunday. The traffic police intercepted the boy and slapped a fine of Rs 6,000 for driving two-wheeler without DL, using a mobile phone and not wearing a helmet.
However, as the boy was below 18 years of age, the boy’s father was summoned and the challan was issued to him.
“My son came out of the house on the bike to bring some sweets. He was not wearing helmet. He does not know about the traffic rules. I admit that it’s a mistake,” Surendra Sahu, father of the minor boy, said.
On the first day of the resumption of new traffic rules on Sunday, many commuters were seen paying penalties for violating traffic rules. Though Odisha government has given a relaxation of another three months to obtain necessary documents, the documents will be checked in case any vehicle user is found flouting any of the road safety provisions.
