Manish murder case: Police trace car, detain friend
Bhubaneswar: Police are trying to find clues in the murder case of senior journalist Navin Das’ son Manish Anurag. The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday traced another car, in which the deceased had gone to a hotel in Patrapada area on the city outskirts along with his two friends the night before the incident.
A few hours before Manish’s body was recovered from a pond on October 10, his car was found parked near a “dhaba” in Infocity area. Police have detained one of the two friends for interrogation.
Meanwhile, the preliminary report of post-mortem conducted at AIIMS Bhubaneswar revealed that 30-year-old Manish died due to respiratory failure.
Manish was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Patrapada locality on Sunday afternoon under Tamando police limits on outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Locals found the body floating in a village pond.
Navin Das, Editor of Odia daily ‘Nirbhay’, had on Monday alleged that his son was killed by his friends.
